442Halloween is a multi-faceted holiday that is as much about wild fun as it is about heart-pounding moments worthy of a horror film. And no matter what thriller you like, the important thing is that we all love it!
And if you and your family and friends don't want to be bored at home by the pumpkin patch this year, the Wish Gravity App editors have prepared a selection of events for you for those who live in or want to visit Frankfurt am Main and the surrounding area.

And before we dive into the adventures review, here's a little tip: Most Halloween events take place from 21 October to 5 November, which means you have two whole weeks to run around in your fancy vampire costume.
Halloween for children
Let's start by saying that no one will be bored on Halloween! Neither adults nor children.
As always, there are plenty of activities for children around Frankfurt: games, theatre performances and adventures. We have selected the most remarkable places and activities for you!
- Our selection of events starts with a large-scale festival with games, treats, adventures, scary stories and real horror stories for the whole family for Halloween at Königstein am Taunus Castle. You can find all the details about the event in our event description here. The organisers of the event haven't skimped on the atmosphere, so it's going to be pretty spooky and fun. Children will definitely enjoy it.
- If you are not interested in big scary stories but would like your children to take part in a fun children's event and your child is between 4 and 12 years old, the Riederwald Adventure Playground (details here) might be of interest to you. This is a children's organisation that offers your children the opportunity to spend Halloween playing and dancing, albeit in the costume of a water sprite or a witch, but still entertaining and active.
- Sometimes an adventure can also be educational, so an interesting tour and search for Luigi's ghost around Erbach Castle can be very educational and entertaining, especially if you like true stories. This adventure is suitable for children aged 4+ and won't be too scary! To take part, you need to register here, details here.
- And if you want to relax in nature with the whole family and experience a real treasure hunt adventure, the event organised by the Wildpark Alte Fasanerie(details here) is interesting for children aged 12 and over. Here the aim is to search for ghost treasures at night in a dark park by candlelight and lanterns. And for those who pass the challenge, a nice picnic by the fire awaits them at the end.
Halloween for adults
If you don't have children yet but you have friends, or if you have children who have had enough sweets and you need a break, then the following collection is for you!
- The first in our review, the spookiest, the biggest, the most terrifying, the cruelest and the one that makes you believe in nightmares is Halloween at Freizeitpark Schloss Thurn. It's fun to travel to Bavaria for the biggest adventure of the autumn! To get a feel for the scale, just watch this video. If you're as intrigued by this event as we are, here are the details. The format of the event sees adventures for the whole family during the day and adventures for adults only at night.
- Would you like to experience horror in reality, with the feeling that it's not just about costumes and scenery, but that hell and demons are real? Then the Escape Room Schloss Hanau offers a real demon cot for you. Interesting and exciting plots, but you have the chance to escape from all these nightmares.
- If you enjoy excursions, Münzenberg Castle has prepared an exciting historical tour for you on Halloween. You can learn more about the true historical events that led to the "scary stories" we are about to tell you.
- If you cannot attend the Münzenberg excursion, there is also an equally interesting night excursion to Erbach Castle, where you will not only get to know the ruins but also the actual castle and learn about local legends.
