Lecture by Prof. Gottfried Pott on the exhibition “Hommage à Einhard”
Professor Gottfried Pott, the artist and researcher who studies historical writings from Roman times to the present, invites you to his lecture on scribal art from the time of Charlemagne on Sunday, 15 October at 11.30 am. The subject will be the reforms of Alkuin and Einhardt and how one could find easily readable texts in huge emperors’ empire. He will also talk about writing techniques that are still practised today.
Come to this unique lecture and author tour and immerse yourself in the wide world of medieval calligraphy. As a calligrapher, Prof. Gottfried Pott has the expertise to make the subject vivid and to show the rapid development of this discipline in modern times.
